The GCCA+ Climate Change Suriname Adaptation – Phase 2 Project, contributes to the preventative measures to keep persons safe from COVID-19

The world is still affected by the global COVID-19 pandemic, causing countries worldwide, including Suriname to take unprecedented measures of prevention and mitigation.
To mitigate the possible impact of the pandemic and reduce disaster risk, The GCCA+ Climate Change Suriname Adaptation – Phase 2 Project, contributes to the preventative measures to keep persons safe from COVID-19.
The project has started with the distribution of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) items to the government partners of the project. In the new year, more institutions will benefit from this activity.
In total 7050 PPE items were donated to 6 departments of 4 Ministries.
1.The Ministry of Public Works Hydraulic Research Division and the Department of Meteorological Service Suriname,
2. The Ministry of Physical Planning and Environment, Environment Department,
3. The Ministry of Natural Resources, Planning Unit and the of Water Department
4. The Ministry of Land and Forest Management
To reduce any risk and personal contact the PPE items were received during a drive-by handover.
